Really dumb move here by the young DE for the Lions. It didn't end up costing Detroit at all though, obviously.
The Lions were pretty fired up for decimating the Patriots offense. Something they're not stranger to in the preseason. Too bad these games don't count, guys!

RUBBING IT IN
Detroit Lions DE Willie Young decided to taunt New England Patriots QB Tom Brady after his pass went for an incompletion during Thursday’s preseason game. I guess Young is unaware of the fact that this was a preseason game. Young was also flagged on the play for taunting, negating the 3rd down incompletion and giving the Patriots a first down. ALLEN PARK, Mich. Willie Young Mr. August taunting a future Hall of Fame quarterback.
Whats wrong with that picture?
Young, a defensive end for the Detroit Lions who was a star in the preseason last year but a flop in the regular season, wouldnt disclose what he said late in the first half of Thursdays exhibition game to draw a personal-foul penalty or why he did it.
Jim Schwartz of the Detroit Lions has to be ready to gnaw his own leg off. But that would probably be after he chewed on the posterior of DE Willie Young. Players are like grand kids; if one isn’t dumping the potty chair contents onto the bathroom floor, the other is pouring maple syrup on top of the dog.
Schwartz and several team mates were visibly irritated by Young’s...
Detroit defensive end Willie Young says he'll avoid penalties that hurt his team after taunting New England quarterback Tom Brady.
Young's taunt resulted in a 15-yard penalty in the Lions' 40-9 win against the Patriots in a preseason game on Thursday night.
After hurrying Brady into an incompletion in the New England end zone, Young grabbed Brady by the collar and said...
I’m all about being a fierce competitor, but maybe someone should tell Lions defensive lineman Willie Young to tone it down a little. Grabbing a Hall of Fame quarterback by his jersey and pointing him in the face after a meaningless incomplete pass in a meaningless preseason game isn’t exactly a great look.
That’s exactly what Young did towards the end of the second quarter...
Detroit Lions defensive lineman Willie Young was feeling himself during Thursday’s preseason game against the New England Patriots, and he paid the price. The Lions thumped the Pats 40-9 and held New England’s first-team offense to three points. Young was obviously proud of his efforts against Tom Brady, who went 16-of-24 for 185 yards, no […]
Unlike others I don’t have a problem with it.
It is the preseason. and it is the Lions, they probably shouldn’t taunt anyone, but Tom Brady is not a GOD, you can get up in his face even if you have only 25 tackles in four seasons.
The refs were weak throwing a flag on this.
Willie Young Taunts Tom Brady
H/T Big Lead
After putting the heat on Tom Brady in New England's own end zone, the Detroit Lions' Willie Young grabbed the legend's jersey and taunted him. Not smart.
I didn’t know it was illegal to taunt the greatest living American but Lions defensive end Willie Young got flagged for whatever he had to say to Brady…
Could someone please let Willie Young and his $1.2 million dollar salary know that it is the preseason and pointing a finger in the face of Tom Brady really isn’t a smart idea. The Lions are continuing their recent history of making poor decisions, and the below is probably just one in a long line of new ones to come this season. Again, I repeat… Preseason.

Lions defensive end Willie Young must have forgotten that Thursday night’s game didn’t count, since it’s only a preseason game.
Young ended up getting in the face of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady during the Lions’ convincing win over New England. Once again who cares if the Lions played better, the game didn’t count.

Detroit Lions safety Louis Delmas might consider Tom Brady a god, but it was pretty clear that he as in the minority Thursday night. The Lions defense pretty much beat the Patriots--and Brady--to death in every way possible on the field forcing four turnovers in the first half alone.
In spite of the whipping they were putting on the Patriots you would think that maybe the...
