EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Brian Robison's homecoming in Houston might just include a return to the field. Robison, who suffered a Grade-3 AC sprain of his right shoulder in last week's game at St. Louis, returned to practice for the Minnesota Vikings in a limited capacity on Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's important matchup with 12-2 Houston. Minnesota, currently sitting in the final Wild Card spot in the NFC, needs a win to improve its tenuous hold on a playoff spot. Robison is a half-sack shy of his career-high with 7.5, but his ability to hold strong against the run as the starting right defensive end will be important against the Texans' fifth-ranked running game. "That he feels good about it tomorrow," Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said of Robison's best-case scenario. "He has to go through some treatment right now with (head athletic trainer) Eric Sugarman, so have to see how he feels from some of the things we took him through...

Jared Allen: Sexy As Hell in Tight Santa Pants

The early Christmas presents keep on coming for the ladies this year, especially if you're a Minnesota Vikings fan. Most recently, Jared Allen dressed as Santa Claus to attend a players' Christmas party. The difference between this outfit and the Santa outfit John Sullivan worse earlier this week is that this one is TIGHT. And I don't just mean across his chest, but,...

Records Were Made to Be Broken

With two weeks left in the regular season, the race for MVP has been whittled down to a two-man contest, Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson. While arguments can also be made for Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and J.J. Watt, the reality is that Manning and Peterson both overcame impossible, insurmountable odds. And both performed at a level that exceeded all expectations. Manning, as...

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. As he nears the NFL's single-season rushing record, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is everywhere these days, from magazines, newspapers and radio to TV talk shows and highlight shows. On Thursday night, he takes on a sitcom nearly as flawlessly as he does NFL defenses. Peterson is set to appear on Thursday's episode of "The League...

Minnesota Vikings end practice with breakdancing competition

This is absolutely outstanding.  A great job by the coaching staff to try and keep players loose and having fun.  The NFL is a grind, and this is a great way to take some of the pressure off of these players. The defensive lineman looked like they took control of this competition, with Everson Griffen and Fred Evans stealing the show.Video via: Vikingsupdate.com

Peterson top NFC vote-getter for Pro Bowl

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Adrian Peterson's remarkable season in his return from knee surgery has led him to being the top vote-getter among all NFC players in fan balloting for the Pro Bowl. Peterson, the Minnesota Vikings' four-time Pro Bowl back who leads the league with 1,812 rushing yards, finished fourth among all players in the fan voting, which qualifies as 13 of the...

Vikings' key versus Texans is slowing Watt

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. How uptight are the Minnesota Vikings with the playoffs on the line over the season's final two weeks? So uptight that they staged a dance-off between defensive linemen Fred Evans and Everson Griffen recently. Minnesota is focused on trying to win its third road game of the season Sunday when it travels to 12-2 Houston before the season finale at home against...

Purple People Apparel, Holiday Edition: Ruin Christmas with These Vikings Gifts

It's almost Christmas time, and if you haven't wasted your money on the Minnesota Vikings fan in your life by purchasing crappy Vikings shirts from the Purple Jesus Diaries' Merchandise Shop, then you're clearly doing it wrong. If you bought one of ours I can guarantee you that it will make an adult human male giggle and prance like a youngling opening up a GI Joe...

Greenway’s leadership felt on and off field

Chad Greenway already has a career high in tackles with two games to play and leads the league, but he’s becoming more comfortable as a vocal leader, too.

Make no mistake: Peterson wants what Dickerson has

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. In the NFL, some milestones and records mean more than others. Whether it's Tom Brady's 50 passing touchdowns in 2007 or Brett Favre's 297 consecutive starts, a few numbers simply captivate football fans. Last year, 5,000 passing yards was the milestone of the moment, but three players getting there in the same season knocked off the shine. One hundred...

Minnesota Vikings at Houston Texans: Week 16 NFL Pick

Minnesota Vikings (8-6) at Houston Texans (12-2) The Vikings kept their playoff hopes alive last week, as they are one of many 8-6 teams in the NFC. They are long shot hopes, however. Not only do they not control their own destiny, their final 2 games are against Houston and Green Bay, two of the better teams in the NFL. Making matters worse, the Vikings are in a bad spot trends...

Vikings deny Texans home-field advantage

HOUSTON (AP) --The Minnesota Vikings don't need record-setting days from Adrian Peterson to stay in the playoff race. Peterson rushed for 86 yards, falling far short of the 2,000-yard mark, yet helping the Vikings (9-6) keep their postseason chances alive with a 23-6 upset of the Texans on Sunday. Christian Ponder threw a touchdown pass, Toby Gerhart added a score and Blair Walsh...

Know Your Opponent with Mike Wobschall from Vikings.com

Here we are, week 16, the final 2012 game against an AFC North foe (unless… Super Bowl, anyone?) This time, the Houston Texans face the Adrian Peterson led Minnesota Vikings for a Sunday noon game at Reliant. The Vikings are not entirely unknown to the Texans as the interconference opponents met in the final week of the preseason. Of course that was a long time and many injuries...
