According to Chip Scoggins and Abby Simons of the Star Tribune, Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams has ended his legal battle with the NFL over a failed drug test that started back in December 2008. However, his teammate, Pat Williams, will continue his appeal and hopes for a decision within the next three months.

Back in 2008, Williams was originally suspended four games by the NFL after testing positive to diuretic. Williams claimed the reason behind the test results was due to a weight-loss supplement he was taking that contains the substance. After appealing the suspension, the judge allowed Williams to play while the case was under investigation. Now that he’s officially backed out, Williams will most likely receive some sort of suspension during the 2011 season–depending on what happens with the situation regarding the lockout.
