The Minnesota Vikings did what they said they wouldn’t do today when they traded disgruntled wide receiver Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks for a myriad of draft picks.
Some of the Vikings players are reeling right now. MVP running back Adrian Peterson says he feels like someone just kicked him in the gut.
Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams was on Sirius XM radio with Rich Gannon, and according to Pro Football Talk, Williams now can’t name a receiver on the Vikings roster after Harvin’s trade and Michael Jenkins release last week.
“I can’t tell you one receiver that’s on the team right now,” Williams told Bruce Murray and Rich Ganon of SiriusXM NFL Radio. “That is funny. After we lose Percy and Michael, I can’t name one that we have on the roster. So we’re definitely going to have to make some moves in the draft and free agency to try to get us a receiving corps, period.”
Minnesota reportedly tried unsuccessfully to try to acquire Anquan Boldin before he was traded to San Francisco. We definitely expect the Vikings to go full throttle for Greg Jennings, Mike Wallace, Danny Amendola, or Wes Welker.
For the record, those receivers would be Devin Aromashodu, Stephen Burton, Greg Childs, Jerome Simpson, and Jarius Wright.
BEST OF MAXIM
According to Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports, wide receiver Percy Harvin told the Minnesota Vikings that he needs a better quarterback throwing him the ball than Christian Ponder. This is reportedly the main reason the Vikings decided to finally trade him.
According to two sources, the straw that broke the Vikings’ back with Harvin is when he bemoaned the fact that quarterback Christian...
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Signing tight end John Carlson was considered the Minnesota Vikings' biggest move in free agency last year. Hours before free agency this year, Carlson was left to restructure his original five-year, 25 million contract.
Carlson, 28, redid his contract Tuesday, according to a report from ESPN1500.com, giving Minnesota more salary cap relief and perhaps saving...

After hearing about his former teammate Percy Harvin being traded to the Seahawks earlier today, Minnesota Vikings’ running back Adrian Peterson tweeted how upset he was to hear the news.
The best all around player I ever seen or you’ll ever see! Goes to Seattle! I feel like I just got kicked in the stomach. Several times!!!

This was one of the really good signing of the days. Felton was an integral part in Adrian Peterson’s near record setting season and he is one of the best fullbacks in the game, ranking 5th at his position on ProFootballFocus. I was expecting him to exceed Vonta Leach’s 3 year, 11 million dollar contract from 2 off-seasons ago so credit the Vikings for locking him up for 7.5...
On Monday, one day before the beginning of free agency, the Vikings dealt wideout Percy Harvin to the Seahawks in exchange for a first round pick, a seventh round pick, and a mid-round pick in next year’s draft.
The trade works out well for both teams. The Vikings knew that keeping Harvin would be difficult. If they were stubborn, they could have held onto him, had him holdout...
Fantasy Football News - According to several sources including FFLockerRoom’s Ziad Dahdul, the Minnesota Vikings have moved their star wide receiver Percy Harvin to the Seattle Seahawks for a handful of draft picks, of which they are being rumored to be a 1st round, 7th round and a conditional 2014 draft pick in return.
FFLockerRoom Take - Russell Wilson by far is the biggest...
