The Minnesota Vikings have released defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy, according to a person with knowledge of the move. Cutting Kennedy clears $2.5 million off the Vikings' salary cap. The Vikings were reportedly $4 to $7 million over the cap before parting ways with Kennedy, who played in only nine games last season and said his farewell today on twitter. "Viking fans, Thank you for accepting me as your own, but Im sorry to imform you I AM NO LONGER With the Team. I love you guys. Be kool :-)" Kennedy tweeted.
