Their Minnesota Vikings might have fell short of the Super Bowl, but as the host city team owners Mark, Zygi and Leonard Wilf still feel obligated to make sure those coming to Minneapolis for next month’s big game between the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots feel at home.

It’s in this that the trio will be hosting an invite-only dinner for other NFL owners that includes a performance from music sensation Sting.

“This is an opportunity for the Vikings organization to have a celebration with our partners, staff, NFL owners, business and community leaders. We’re excited,” Vikings VP Lester Bagley told the Star Tribune.

Bagley went on to note that about two-thirds of NFL owners usually show up for the annual event. With it being held in the Super Bowl host city this year, that number could change.

We’re wondering aloud if the invite to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie might get lost in the mail after his Philadelphia squad disposed of Minnesota in a big way in the NFC Championship Game. Are the Wilfs going to invite all of the Green Bay Packers owners? That number is clearly in the thousands and would make for a crowded scene at St. Paul’s Union Depot.

We also would like to know what songs Sting has on tap. Maybe, "Russians" could be on the menu.

Then again, that might not sit well with the likes of Jerry Jones and Robert Kraft, among other Trump-supporting owners.

Something like "Fields of Gold" seems to make more sense here.

As the Vikings said, this is an opportunity for the heads of the league’s 32 teams to interact.

But don’t think for a second that the Wilfs won’t be pushing an agenda here. Jones and Kraft come in as the two most popular NFL owners in the SNIPdaily Brass Top 100. They have major pull around the league. Get them buttered up, with another popular figure in NFL commissioner Roger Goodell also on hand, and push your agenda. Because, why the heck not?
