The Minnesota Vikings have placed perennial Pro Bowl guard Steve Hutchinson on injured reserve, reports Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune. Hutchinson was scheduled to miss a third straight game on Monday night with a broken thumb. A first-round pick (17th overall) out of Michigan by the Seattle Seahawks in 2001, the seven-time Pro Bowler and member of the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 200s has started all 143 games he's been active during his 10-year career. Hutchinson missed the final 12 games of the 2002 season with a broken leg. Rookie quarterback R.J. Archer has been signed off the practice squad to replace Hutchinson on the 53-man roster.
