NEW ORLEANS - JANUARY 24: Adrian Peterson #28 of the Minnesota Vikings runs the ball against the New Orleans Saints during the NFC Championship Game at the Louisana Superdome on January 24, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by Chris Graythen/Getty Images)
On Monday, April 1, Adrian Peterson will be among the many luminaries who will attend and participate in the annual Egg Roll event at the White House on the South Lawn. The entirety of the festivities will be broadcast live here. The Minnesota Vikings running back reportedly will be reading to children on the Storytime Stage. NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, 9-year-old actress Quvenzhane Wallis from Beasts of the Southern Wild and several Sesame Street characters will be joining him. Peterson will also be joining other representatives from the President’s Council on Fitness in the event’s “Eggtivity Zone,” teaching youngsters how to stay healthy and active. And while it is a worthwhile event and certainly an honor to be invited, all that I could think of when I first read about Adrian Peterson’s inclusion is that hilarious “Bad NFL Lip-Reading” video where Peterson supposedly says, “Egg roll, I wish I had a breeze running down my leg. I’d kill for a cookie. Sting-ray a double-sided Scooby Snack.” Mainly because I’m a goofball. Although if I were in attendance at the Egg Roll, I would be bringing along an orange peanut for Peterson’s autograph, just in case.
