Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis may have misspoken in a postgame interview after their 39-33 victory over former Colts QB Peyton Manning and the previously unbeaten Denver Broncos:
When NBC sideline reporter Michelle Tafoya asked about the defense's preparation to face the Broncos offense, Davis replied "We had a good week of practice. We prepared really hard for Tom Brady, so I think it just carried over from practice to the game."
Now that certainly wasn't a response that anyone was expecting, and Bob Costas wasn't about to leave that one alone:
"...thank you Vontae Davis, who apparently had a gameplan of his own preparing for Tom Brady, but it more or less worked against Peyton Manning."
It happens to everyone, but given all the noise surrounding Colts owner Jim Irsay's comments this week, it's somewhat ironic that Brady's name came up again in the context of Peyton Manning's play.
