Football games are a collection of plays, a whole bunch of them, that all unfold over the course of the 60 minutes they’re played in. However, we’re usually left second-guessing or questioning one or two of those when the game is over. This year’s Super Bowl was no different, with the play in question being the 49ers’ final offensive play. Facing a fourth-and-5 from the Ravens’ 5-yard line trailing 34-29, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick threw one into the corner of the end zone for Michael Crabtree. Unfortunately for the 49ers, Crabtree couldn’t come up with the grab. He was slowed by Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith, who appeared to make a good deal of contact on the play. San Francisco head coach Jim Harbaugh certainly thought it was a hold. The younger Harbaugh brother exploded on the San Francisco sideline, throwing another one of his patented hissy-fits, flinging his headset off and making a holding motion in direction of the officials. It was to no avail, of course, as the flag stayed attached to the officials, and the game would be over minutes later. Crabtree also stated following the game that he thought there should have been a call. There certainly looked to be a lot of contact between the two, but given the situation, the referees were likely to let ‘em play a little bit more. What do you think? Take Our Poll
