Vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan fumbled on a visit to the Cleveland Browns.
Ryan stopped by the team's complex with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice - a lifelong Cleveland fan - as the Browns were beginning practice Wednesday. While addressing the players, Ryan confused Browns backup quarterback Colt McCoy for starter Brandon Weeden, leading to a few awkward moments and laughs before the candidate realized his mistake.
Weeden said Ryan ''saw the red (practice) jerseys and got us mixed up.''
Ryan and Rice spoke to the team, one day after new owner Jimmy Haslam's purchase of the Browns was approved. Ryan also greeted Pro Bowl tackle Joe Thomas, a fellow Wisconsin native.
Browns safety Joe Haden said Secret Service presence on the field ''was crazy. I didn't know what was going on.''
