Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace's average yards per game is down from 74.56 a year-ago to 51.33 in twelve games this season despite his average receptions per-year being close to the same.   Some of that has to do with Todd Haley's offense and some with Wallace's lack of focus. "I've never been a guy who dropped balls or just lose focus," Wallace told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "The first three years I was always involved, so you just warmed up in games, and were just into it. "But when you don't get the ball for two-and-half quarters, you lose focus. But that's the type of offense this is. We're spreading it around, so you're not going to get as many targets. When you get them you have to make the best of them." Wallace appeared to adjust early to Haley's quick throws and short routes with four touchdowns in the first five games.  But Wallace has just two touchdowns in the last seven games.  "When I don't get the ball for a certain amount of time, I lose focus sometimes," Wallace said. "It hurts me when it's time for me to make a play. "The toughest thing is staying positive through three quarters because you're not going to get the ball every time. You have to be ready to deliver when it comes your way. That's been the biggest thing I've had to learn this year." Wallace is competing for receptions on a team with talented receivers, Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders, and a tight end who leads in receptions with 56 and in touchdowns with 7, Heath Miller. “There have been a lot of plays made this year, but a lot of plays have been missed at the same time. I’m used to making big plays, but I’m not getting as many opportunities to make those plays. “Sometimes I have to remind them not to forget about me.” With the return of Ben Roethlisberger, who has missed the past three games, the Steelers offense should improve in time for a playoff run.   HT: NFL.com
