The Washington Redskins official team website has RB Evan Royster listed as the team’s starting running back. Head coach Mike Shanahan has told the media that he has selected a starter but won’t reveal his name. Royster has told the media that despite being listed as the team’s starter, he’s not buying it. “I think they’re going to keep us in the dark until probably the day before the game too, so we’ll see. I think it’s good as a whole, because I think it makes us compete and you know, it’s not like one of us going into the game is the clear starter. We’re all here working to get that spot,” Rosyter told reporters Monday. The Redskins released Tim Hightower last week, a back which entered the offseason as the presumed starter for the Redskins this season. Coming off ACL surgery, Hightower aggravated his knee at the start of training camp and never completely recovered. There is an outside chance that he could be brought back in a month or so.
