It’s been a while and I do apologize. I live in the Northeast, NJ to be exact and the past few weeks, mother nature has not been a friend but that’s all history now. Now, let’s talk a little Week 10. Many teams I’m sure felt this way this week No People, It’s Not Tebow-Time People aren’t going to believe me when I say that I am not a NY Jets fan because it always seems that my columns start with talk about the Jets. I’ve said before and I will say it again, I don’t think Tim Tebow has ever been or ever will be the answer in NY. Granted, Mark Sanchez isn’t a great QB but the Jets problems run deeper than the guy throwing the ball. They are just a bad team but Tebow isn’t a better QB than Sanchez. He’s different, it creates a different feeling to the offense but I don’t think that Tebow-time would be successful in NY. I’m not a fan of the product that the Jets put on the field. Rex Ryan is a great defensive guy but as a head coach I think he lacks. Even his defense is suffering at this point. Tony Sparano, well let’s just say when my team let him go, I was extremely happy. I don’t think he’s very good at what he does either. Matt Cavanaugh I know little about but Sanchez isn’t progressing under Cavanaugh’s reign so maybe it’s time to take a good hard look at the coaching staff. The Jets are 3-9 if you go back to Week 15 of last season. Only Cleveland and Jacksonville have been worse in that span. That’s bad, especially when you remember that this team was on the cusp of going to the Super Bowl. Despite my constant negative outlook on the NY Jets, I thought their performance on Sunday was even more embarrassing that I could have imagined. Dallas Is Still In it Thanks to a Giants stunning loss, the Cowboys win in Philadelphia keeps America’s team in it for now. First, let’s look at the Giants. I was shocked to see that the Giants lost big to Cincinnati but a quick txt message to a buddy of mine told me that the Giants have never won in Cincinnati but they don’t play very often. I wasn’t expecting much out of the Cowboys. I did expect a win because Philly is just playing very poor football right now. You can’t succeed if you can’t protect your QB, which they can’t do. Give Dallas credit though, their defense did a decent job but if they want to be successful in this league and get to the next level, you know, that level the Giants usually play on, they need to minimize those long plays they give up. Speaking of Still In It Who Dat I speak of?? Yup, the Saints are in the hunt even though they started out 0-4. I never once questioned their ability on offense, I mean who in their right mind would ever question Drew Brees? It was their defense we questioned and whether it be a lack of practice time or a lack of chemistry, they seem to have figured it out. I think they could be dangerous to the other teams trying to get a wildcard spot. Of course a wildcard means a road game which means an early exit for New Orleans but six weeks ago, most had buried the Saints. All in all an entertaining week of football. Lots of head injuries which raises the safety questions once again but still entertaining. I can’t believe we are already through 10 weeks of football.
