Houston Texans 34 Tennessee Titans 31 The Houston Texans rebound from their week 1 loss to the Jets by defeating the Titans in a shootout. Matt Schaub had 357 yards with four TDs. After scoring 48 points in the first half the defenses stepped up in the second half. The Titans were unable to capitalize on their early third quarter lead and lost on a game winning field goal by veteran kicker Kris Brown. The Texans (1-1) will take on the Jaguars in Houston next week. The Titans will look for their first win of the season against the Jets who are coming off a 'Superbowl win' against the Patriots. Cincinnati Bengals 31 Green Bay Packers 24 Carson Palmer lit up the Packers defense for three touchdowns. The Packers were shocked at home by a traditionally awful Bengals team. Thus far the Bengals have played some good football and this 'W' really surprised me. The Bengals didn't LOOK like the better team but the final score indicates it was their day! The Packers will take their 1-1 record to St. Louis in week three. The Bengals (1-1) will get a real test when Pittsburgh comes to town next week. New Orleans Saints 48 Philadelphia Eagles 22 Brees was at it again with three more TD passes. The Saints looked real sharp in their road win against the Eagles. I didn't get a chance to see it but I guess McNabb was scratched as expected and Kevin Kolb came in and was fairly successful at least as far as his stats showed. Kolb threw for 391 yards and 2 TDs against the "Best defense in the world". The W is what counts, the Saints 2-0 will head into Buffalo to take on a much improved Bills team. The Eagles on the other hand will host Kansas City in week three. Minnesota Vikings 27 Detroit Lions 13 Ho hum, here we go again... The Lions took an early 10-0 lead but found themselves trailing big at the end of this one. Another game I wasn't able to watch. It appears as though Brett Favre is enjoying Adrian Peterson's presence. Brett threw only 4 incomplete passes, and Adrian added 92 yards on the ground. Brett Favre and the Vikings will host Frank Gore and the 49ers in Week 3. This has the potential to be a great game. The Lions are 0-2 and haven't won in an extremely long time (since 2007). The Lions take on the Washington Redskins in what I think might be a Redskins blowout. Other notable early games: The Arizona Cardinals (1-1) destroy the Jacksonville Jaguars(0-2) 31-17. Atlanta Falcons (2-0) take care of business against the Carolina Panthers (0-2). Matt Ryan threw for 3 TDS in the victory.
