Small White Ball:
A few notes while trying to grasp what this season will be like if Tom Brady is out for the entire year...
-Chuck Liddell knocked out: Rashad Evans took a huge step in his career Saturday night with his upset win over Chuck Liddell via 2nd round knockout. More on this on RopesRingandCage.com in a little bit, but you have to think that Liddell might be near the end of his Hall-of-Fame career. He didn't just get hit...he got hit HARD.
-Ocho Cinco forced to wear C. Johnson: Remember when the NFL was prepared to let Chad Johnson just go ahead and wear 'Ocho Cinco' on the back of his jersey this season? Seemed a bit too smooth to believe, right? Well, there was a reason for that. At the last minute, Joh...err, Ocho Cinco was told he would have to wear 'C. Johnson' on the back of his jersey. Why? Because of a 'financial obligation' to Reebok due to the run of jerseys they had already printed up with his original name on them. In other words, the shoe giant didn't want to waste all that money and pressured the league to force Ocho Cinco to act as human mannequin for the jerseys they already invested in. (Hitting head against wall...)
-This video speaks for itself. From this weekend's Texas/UTEP college football game:
Josh Nason started Small White Ball in 2007 and is the main contributor of content for the site. A long-time writer, his work can also be read at sites like RopesRingandCage.com, EmailMarketingGuy.com and others. He also does radio appearances and was on TV once, albeit for a lame public television game show. He can be reached at josh@smallwhiteball.com.
