New York Jets – 34, Washington Redskins – 19 Even in a win the Jets look like they won despite Mark Sanchez (166 total yards, 1 TD), not because of him.  Sanchez threw 32 passes but only had 165 passing yards on the day, which he salvaged with a second half touchdown.  Rex Grossman (221 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT) looked bad against the intense Jets pressure, barely completing 40% of his passes and failing to lead his team to a score when the game was within reach. For the second straight week Santonio Holmes (4-58, 1 TD) caught a touchdown pass, which hid the fact that Sanchez just isn’t accurate enough to make proper use of a playmaker like Holmes.  Poor Santonio… Sanchez is wasting the best years of his WR career.  Plaxico Burress (3-33) had another quiet outing, as he seems to do better at home than on the road. Well, looks like Darrelle Revis doesn’t cover tight ends, so Fred Davis (6-99) ended up with a pretty big game.  Santana Moss (5-42) played his second strai...

Sanchez leads another rally, keeping Green in playoff hunt

LANDOVER, Md. — It may be time for Mark Sanchez to trade in his No. 6 jersey and helmet for a cape and top hat. The Jets quarterback performed some more fourth-quarter magic to lift his team to a 34-19 comeback victory over the Redskins at FedEx Field yesterday. For the...

Sanchez, Jets come back again, top Redskins 34-19

In his own colorful way, Rex Ryan expressed his latest thoughts on the New York Jets' playoff chances. ''We know where we think we're going,'' he said. ''More confident than 100 percent? I don't know about that.'' No matter what he thinks or knows or doesn't know, and regardless of what sort of math is used, Ryan naturally has to...

DeAngelo Hall Pulled An Albert Hayneworth Against The Jets

Leading up to yesterday’s Jets-Redskins game DeAngelo Hall called Mark Sanchez a “middle-of-the-pack” quarterback. DeAngelo should know, given the signal callers he has shared a roster with in Washington. What Hall didn’t comment on, however, was Sanchez’ fearsome blocking ability, which was on display during Shonn Green’s fourth-quarter TD run. Click the image to watch...

More Fourth Quarter Fireworks In Jets Victory

Would you rather watch a snuff film or watch Mark Sanchez run the Jets offense?  For most of Sunday, the question wasn't a particularly ridiculous one. The Jets offense alternated between committing stupid penalties, taking useless timeouts, missing open receivers and running a limp Wildcat before Sanchez finally connected with Santonio Holmes for a 30-yard touchdown with just...
