This Reche Caldwell drop changed the fate of two Patriots seasons
This is the third and fourth of ten of Boston’s Bettah’s summer series of the 2000′s decades “What If?” moments. As the sports stories become fewer during the summer months, Benti will be taking a look at some of these moments and how he think it would have played out.
Both of these moments are so closely connected into Patriots history that they deserve to be in the same post. Besides, I am woefully behind on these “What-If?” scenarios so there is little reason to NOT put these together.
The first one takes place during the 2007 AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Colts. This was the one that the Patriots snuck into, held a 21-6 lead at half-time and then decided to role reverse and let the Colts come back, win the game, go to the Super Bowl and make it so it’s never okay to call Peyton Manning a choke artist except for increasing evidence that supports that theory.
