The Redskins selected Spencer Long, offensive guard from Nebraska with the 77th pick overall.
Long joins Morgan Moses as the latest rookie lineman drafted to help protect the Nation Capital’s greatest asset: Robert Griffin III.
Long had a solid career playing for the Cornhuskers, garnering accolades such as Academic All American status and was the team captain in 2013.
However, the bad news is Long may be damaged goods; senior year ended prematurely after Long suffered a knee injury while playing against Perdue in October.
On the bright side, maybe that’s something he can bond with RGIII about.
