What a difference a year makes.Last season, Nick Foles was slowly being transitioned into the Eagles' offense under then-coach Andy Reid. The quarterback from Arizona's progress was one positive Philadelphia could take in an otherwise anemic 2012 campaign. However, Foles' position, more importantly his position on the depth chart, solely relied on Reid's future as the Eagles' head coach.Fast forward to today. Chip Kelly is now the head coach, he has implemented his fast-paced, up-tempo offense & suddenly, there may be a change of scenery in Foles' future. While he is currently second on the depth chart behind current starter Michael Vick, Foles could easily be beaten out by third-stringer Dennis Dixon. Of the three quarterbacks, Dixon is the most familiar with Kelly's offense, as he played for the Oregon Ducks as a senior when Kelly was the offensive coordinator.Dixon unfortunately went down with a torn ACL, which cost him his draft stock as he was unabl...

This year’s draft will be different from that of 2012,...

Chip Kelly doesn’t intend to use receiver DeSean Jackson ‘Duck style’

Coach Chip Kelly doesn’t know where Desean Jackson got the idea he would use him like De’Anthony Thomas, a running back for the Oregon Ducks. When asked how he thought he would be utilized, "Kind of similar to what De'Anthony Thomas was doing at Oregon," Jackson replied. Kelly cleared that picture up quickly, pointing out they are two different players. "...

Philadelphia Eagles sign TE James Casey

The Eagles already have Brent Celek, but James Casey isn’t a traditional tight end. He can play fullback and h-back as well and played 668 snaps in 18 games for the Texans last year even though they had both Owen Daniels and Garrett Graham. He caught 38 passes for 379 yards and 3 touchdowns on 48 targets, grading out above average as a pass catcher on ProFootballFocus, while holding...

The Kansas Chiefs hold all the leverage in the upcoming 2013 NFL Draft.  They have a capable quarterback on the roster, so what they choose to do with the #1 overall pick is not of the utmost urgency. The Chiefs can draft Luke Joeckel, Shariff Floyd, Geno Smith or trade the pick to one of several teams who need a quarterback. Andy Reid is as shrewd as they come and he’s playing...

Eagles add punter Donnie Jones, release Mat McBriar

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed punter Donnie Jones formerly of the Houston Texans. Jones was let go by the Texans after they signed Shane Lechler. Mat McBriar spent the 2012 season with the Eagles. He is unlikely to be out of work for too long as he has always possessed a strong leg and last season was no different with a 46.5 gross average. The Eagles were due to pay McBriar...
