PPR Fantasy Football:
The Patriots should seriously consider adding both Charles Woodson and Dwight Freeney.
As recently history has shown, with Tom Brady as their quarterback, the New England Patriots are a perennial Super Bowl contender. Yet, the Patriots have been unable to win the big game in recent years, coming up small in the big spot, seemingly over and over again.
Whether it was the two Super Bowl defeats to the Giants or the recent loss in the 2012 AFC Championship game, the Pats have simply been unable to get it done in the biggest moments and often it has been the defense that has let them down.
Well, with the career of Brady winding down and the championship window closing, it is time for the Patriots to go all in and do whatever it takes to surround Brady with enough talent to win a fourth Super Bowl championship
With that in mind, the Patriots should seriously entertain the idea of signing Charles Woodson and Dwight Freeney, two recently released defensive stalwarts that could help the Pat...
BEST OF MAXIM
Gil Brandt of NFL.com suggests that free agent DB Charles Woodson could find a limited market for his services after being released by the Packers.
Brandt goes as far to suggest that Woodson may even consider retirement due to limited interest.
This is purely speculation on the part of Brandt, but he could be right about the level interest in Woodson this offseason.
Gil Brandt of NFL.com believes free agent cornerback/safety Charles Woodson may end up retiring after he realizes how small his value on the open market.
Charles Woodson has had a great, great HOF-worthy career. I suspect it will be over after he sees the market for him this offseason.

The truth is that with Woodson turning 37 years...
With the announcement that Dwight Freeney won't be re-signed by the Indianapolis Colts, the veteran defensive end will be heading into free agency for the first time. With just 12 tackles and five sacks last season, Freeney may have a difficult time finding work with agreeable pay.
For Freeney, playing in a 4-3 defense is essential. He didn't fit in the Colts' new...

Dwight Freeney, the longtime defensive end/linebacker for
the Indianapolis Colts, had hoped to get the chance to play out his remaining
playing days right where he started in Indianapolis, but come March 12 he will
be looking for a new...
Free agent defensive end Dwight Freeney is looking for a team right now, and judging from his list of suitors, teams are looking for him.
Freeney is not sure where he’ll end up, but if one NFL team called him, it would be a living out a dream. Freeney was on Sirius radio with Adam Schein and admitted playing for the New York Giants would be a dream come true.
Freeney grew up...
New York Jets fans, Dwight Freeney was recently cut by the Indianapolis Colts after 11 seasons and 107.5 sacks. He is the edge pass-rusher the Jets have never had in the Rex Ryan era! When looking at Freeney, think Michael Strahan, more on that thought in a moment. The Jets have tried and missed on previous edge rushers in the way of Calvin Pace, who in essentially the same number...
With two possible future Hall of Fame players (Dwight Freeney & Charles Woodson) being released from their teams, the mock may change just a bit. After what I expect to be a poor performance at the NFL Draft Combine, Manti Te’o will drop out of the 1st round. Also check out my list of NFL Mock [...]
Impending free agent DE Dwight Freeney joined Pro Football Talk Live on Wednesday and mentioned that Peyton Manning has already been recruiting him to sign with the Broncos.
While this seems like an interesting idea given that Manning spent several years with Freeney in Indianapolis, it’s unlikely that they would pursue him as a 3-4 outside linebacker. The Colts asked Freeney...
Dwight Freeney will have his list of suitors, and Roddy White and the Atlanta Falcons seem to be one of them. White and his Falcons teammates seem to think they are a playmaker away from the Super Bowl on defense, and White took to twitter today to try to court Freeney.
I would love to see Dwight Freeney in a falcon uniform next year I hope that’s not tampering

According to Peter King of SI.com, the NFL has been “buzzing” since the Colts told defensive end Dwight Freeney they won’t be re-signing him this offseason.
I think the Dwight Freeney release had the league buzzing over the weekend. One GM who was very interested already in former Giant pass rusher Osi Umenyiora told me Freeney would leapfrog Umenyiora on his free-agent board...
The Patriots need to decide which of these players will receive the franchise tag in the next two weeks
The Patriots have some huge decisions to make by the time the franchise tag period ends on March 4th. Do they put the tag on Welker, and try to work out a long-term deal? Do they go with the same plan as they did last year in regards to Welker (franchise and let him play without...
