I wish we were talking about how New England Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib would impact on the Super Bowl. Oh, how everyone wishes that. But the seasons over, and we have to talk about the future of our players. One of those is Talib, who signed a deal until the end of the season after being traded. And he has had a great impact on the woeful secondary. You could tell as soon as Talib left the AFC Championship, we were pretty screwed. He also contributed a 59 yard pick six on debut against the Indianapolis Colts, and the most telling stat is how he impacted on big plays. We went from one of the worst teams at defending the deep ball (costing us games against the Seattle Seahawks and the Baltimore Ravens - twice), to one of the best. It sounds like we need this guy badly. He has also got the Patriot Way mastered in interviews. Here's what he's had to say since Sundays loss, according to the Boston Globe “I had a lot of fun here, I definitely enjoyed my time here,” Talib...

Vote: If the Patriots Can Re-Sign Either Wes Welker or Aqib Talib, Who Would You Choose?

The Patriots have some tough decisions to make now that their season is over. Two key players are free agents after this season, and each played a major role in the AFC Championship Game. If you had to choose, which player would you pick for the Patriots to re-sign, Aqib Talib or Wes Welker? Talib was only on the team for half a season, but he made a major impact in New England...

Patriots CB Aqib Talib will test free agency market this offseason

The New England Patriots traded for Tampa Bay Buccaneers CB Aqib Talib just prior to the trade deadline this season in order to try to bolster their secondary. Talib was a rental for the Patriots this year, with his impending free agency. The corner suffered an injury in the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens, but it appears that Talib is ready to explore free agency...

“Odds Are Against” S Patrick Chung Returning To New England

According to Mike Rodak of ESPN Boston, the “odds are against” S Patrick Chung re-signing with the team. Rodak mentions that because the Patriots have Devin McCourty, Steve Gregory and Tavon Wilson still on their roster, allowing to leave would have a minimal effect of the depth at safety. New England’s secondary has struggled considerably in recent years, but it’s not...

LB talks Wes Welker’s wife, Tim Brown, Manti Te’o hoax on New Era Radio

This has been a busy week in the sport world. The conference championship games took place, the Super Bowl is coming up, Tim Brown suggested Bill Callahan sabotaged the Raiders, and of course there is the whole Manti Te’o hoax. I joined my friends at New Era Radio on Tuesday to talk about multiple subjects. We discussed the Patriots-Ravens rivalry; Tom Brady’s slide on Ed Reed...

Belichick: 'You'll have to deal with me again next year'

Bill Belichick gave fair warning Monday — even when no one asked — that he and his gray hoodies will still prowl the sidelines of the New England Patriots or at least another season. At the head coach's season-ending press conference Monday— a day after the Patriots got trounced by the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game — a glum Belichick told the media:...

Ed Reed Says Tom Brady Apologized For Kick Slide, Harbors No Hard Feelings

One of the most controversial plays of Sunday’s AFC Championship game came at the end of the second quarter when Tom Brady scrambled out of the pocket and slid cleats high into Ravens safety Ed Reed. Not only did the slide look to be a dirty, unsportsmanlike play by Brady, it was resulted in a case of terrible time management that might have cost the Pats seven points at the end...

Terrell Suggs (shockingly) gives high praise to the Patriots

After defeating the Patriots in the AFC Championship on Sunday, Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs didn't hold any harsh words back. He continued to gloat in his team's win while insulting the Pats and telling them to have fun at the Pro Bowl. This was a classless act. The thrill of victory caught up to Suggs and he received a fair amount of backlash for the disrespectful...
