MINNEAPOLIS - 2009: Chris Clark of the Minnesota Vikings poses for his 2009 NFL headshot at photo day in Minneapolis, Minnesota. (Photo by NFL Photos)
The NFL Draft is right around the corner, meaning teams are preparing to load up on players. Exactly who each team signs is anyone’s guess, but at least you — the football fan — have been prepared through our top 10 lists. Today it’s time for the offensive tackles, it’s a position the Denver Broncos could or could not look to add depth. Ryan Clady sat for a vast majority of last season with his lis franc injury and Chris Clark had to step into his starting spot. Clark did well enough, highlighting just how important depth at the position can be. Of course, with both of them, left tackle seems stacked. What about the other side? Orlando Franklin had a so-so season and it’s possible the Broncos replace him or find a suitable backup. Who fits the role? Antonio Richardson is a straight-up beast. Standing at 6’6″ and 335 pounds, Richardson bullied opposing defensive linemen at Tennessee, but is he quick enough to start in the NFL? While he started the last two seasons without missing a game, Richardson did have knee surgery in 2012 and another this spring; red flags that may see him drop in the Draft. Another possibility is Morgan Moses of Virginia. Moses stands at 6’6″ and 325 pounds, bringing that much-needed size and strength to the game. He’s an astute tackle and may be able to transition quickly to the NFL. Will the Broncos draft a tackle? It seems unlikely with so many needs on defense, but you never know. Like this?
