USA Sports 360:
Lets face it, Chip Kelly could name Matt Barkley as the Eagles starting quarterback. The guy was great in college and the Eagles rookie head coach likes the college style of play. Barkley does some things well and if Kelly were to name him as the team’s starter it would turn some heads. Last year the NFL saw a number of college quarterbacks start and have great years. A couple of them took their teams to the play offs. Barkley could do the same, although it is highly unlikely with the way the Eagles defense is looking this season. Kelly jokingly said he was going to name Barkley as the starter against the Red Skins after practice this week. Was he really joking or was it a slip on his part. I guess we are going to have to wait and see what Kelly’s decision is once the regular season starts. If Barkley continues to show the rookie head coach the things he wants to see, it wouldn’t be that big of a shock to see him give Barkley the starting position. How bad could the Eagles be with the rookie starting at the QB position? Kelly could always sit him down if things didn’t work out. If things did work out Kelly would look like a genius. As we get closer to the start of the season, Chip Kelly will have to tip his hand….

With Former Eagles Coach Andy Reid out in Kansas City , and high scoring Head Coach from University of Oregon Chip Kelly taking over, you would think he would want to push the pace with a naturally fast team and look to push it as he did in College Football, Will all of those plays work? Of course not, but the speed they have in D.Jackson, Mike Vick, and Lesean Mccoy, you would think...

The post Lane Johnson’s newborn son has some really big hands (Photo) appeared first on Pro Football Zone.
Eagles rookie offensive tackle Lane Johnson is 6-6, 310 pounds, and from Texas, so the fact that he would be this big burly guy is not surprising.
Johnson and his beautiful wife gave birth to a new baby boy named David Jace on Saturday.
Johnson released a wonderful photo of his newborn, and in the photo courtesy of Crossing Broad, you can see young David Jace is already following...
Eagles defensive end/linebacker Phillip Hunt underwent surgery to repair a partially torn ACL today, according to Adam Caplan.
Hunt is in his third season out of Houston and recorded only 8 tackles and 1 sack last season. He may not have made their final roster anyway.
We certainly hope Hunt rehabs and gets back on his feet next season.

Eagles rookie tackle Lane Johnson shared a photo of his three-day old son on Twitter on Tuesday. I think we already know which kid is going to be pancaking all the other little anklebiters at daycare in a few years.Speaking of the offspring of NFL players, Tom Brady’s son, Benjamin, appears to be scheming of ways of being the next sinister troll genius.[via]
The Philadelphia Eagles are set to take on the Carolina Panthers in Game 2 of preseason action. The starters, at least on offense, are scheduled to play the entire first half so we should get a better look at how this unit performs with Michael Vick under center as compared to Nick Foles. Obviously, watching the QBs will be first and foremost on everyone’s mind. However, here...
ESPN has parted ways with former Philadelphia Eagles lineman Hugh Douglas in the wake of his alleged confrontation with “Numbers Never Lie” co-host Michael Smith. “He no longer works for us effective today,” an ESPN spokesperson said Tuesday, according to SI.com’s Richard Deitsch. The news should not come as a shock to anyone after hearing […]

Nick Foles, you're up.
Foles will be the starting quarterback when the Philadelphia Eagles play their second preseason game against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night. Michael Vick started last week's 31-22 to loss to New England and now it's Foles' turn to take the first snap.
The two quarterbacks have been alternating days starting out with the first team...
