With WR Greg Orton on the mend with a sprained ankle and Wes Welker missing most of the practice due to leg soreness, Andre Caldwell took advantage of the first team reps by having one of his best practices in training camp.
Caldwell lined up with the first team and made two good catches on passes from QB Peyton Manning.
Caldwell is competing for the No. 4 receiver position and would be considered the favorite.
Caldwell seemed to have gotten lost on the Broncos' roster in 2012, hauling in only one catch.
However, he’s trying to carve out a bigger role for himself in 2013. After practice he commented on his good day:
"Kind of seemed that way, huh?" Caldwell said, via Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
