New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin was an unhappy man most of the offseason with his wideouts not attending OTAs and minicamp.
However, in the opening days of training camp Coughlin can breathe a sigh of relief when he sees both of his top pass catchers out on the field.
While Victor Cruz received his long term deal, Hakeem Nicks is still waiting for the team to step up and get a deal done.
One thing Nicks has to prove to the team is that his knee is healthy and he’s ready to be the big play receiver he was in 2011.
According to Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, Nicks looks like his old self catching passes and running without pain.
‘Coach Tom Coughlin made sure to comment about a couple of plays Nicks made that caught his attention, and it does not appear as if Nicks has any restrictions after struggling last season with foot and then knee issues. This is a big year for Nicks, who is entering the final year of his contract.
