As ugly as this one was, Jay Cutler saw no reason for concern. Sure, the offense struggled in a big way. The defense, however, more than made up for it and the Bears got back to winning.
Major Wright returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown to help Chicago beat the St. Louis Rams 23-6 on Sunday.
The defense came to the rescue against the Rams (1-2), holding them to 160 yards and sacking Sam Bradford six times, and the Bears (2-1) bounced back from an ugly loss to Green Bay.
''Expectations get raised, maybe not in our building but outside perception,'' Cutler said. ''Everyone buys into it and then you have a dismal performance in Green Bay and there is a panic button. We just have to get back to a brand of football that we are comfortable with.''
