PLAYERS: Woody Johnson
TEAMS: New York Jets

Good news is, since Rex promised a Super Bowl win and the JETS didn't even make the playoffs, their owner, Woody Johnson, is planning to announce a refund to the ticket holders for false advertisement. Word is, the JETS didn't realize the NFL strike was over so they played their replacement players.

Teammate says Jets receiver 'quit' on the team

The fact that the Jets will not play in the playoffs is not, by itself, embarrassing. That the Jets blustered their way into the regular season, as usual, and will watch the playoffs from their couches is the embarrassing part. Similarly, Santonio Holmes getting held without a catch in the Jets' season-ending loss to the Dolphins wasn't the worst thing in the world. That...

Has Bart Scott Played His Last Down as a Jet?

When Rex Ryan came to New York, one of the most important players that he brought with him to help impart his defensive mentality was Bart Scott.  After three years though, Scott’s game has started to suffer, and with a high cap number facing hin, the Jets seem to be ready to move on from their loquacious linebacker. Via Rod Boone of Newsday. A source close to the situation...

Jets player on Santonio Holmes: 'He's a cancer. It's like dealing with a 10 year old.'

By GARY MYERS AND MANISH MEHTA   Santonio Holmes was pouting on the field and in the huddle on Sunday and was benched by offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer late in the fourth quarter in Miami, but his attitude for the game was set last week in a meeting Mark Sanchez set up with the ...

Santonio Holmes 'quit' on the Jets in 19-17 loss to the Dolphins

MIAMI – As their season unraveled one turnover and penalty at a time, the Jets reached a breaking point in their offensive huddle with a few minutes remaining in an ugly 19-17 loss to the Dolphins that kept them out the playoffs for the first time in three years. Santonio Holmes, one of the Rex ...

Ryan flying family to New York for Giants game

The last time the Dallas Cowboys were in New York, defensive coordinator Rob Ryan hugged his twin brother, New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan, at midfield after the Cowboys gave up a fourth quarter lead in the season opener. Rex whispered something in Rob's ear as the two embraced, and when asked after the game what was said, Rob put it quite simple, saying his brother told him...

Dolphins’ Randy Starks the Butt of Jokes

Have you ever seen the Buffalo Wild Wings commercial where the sprinklers trip the players allowing the game tying touchdown so they can stay longer at the bar? Well, Buffalo Wild Wings may have been at it again as Randy Starks of the Miami Dolphins intercepted a Mark Sanchez pass and when running in for a touchdown tripped. Teammates of Starks are already taking jabs at him. Defensive...

Firing Squad: Santonio Holmes

Yesterday began the NFL offseason, and with it your chance to put many questionable characters – if you wish – in front of the proverbial firing squad.  Up next Santonio Holmes … does his production trump his attitude? Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll. (See the results for Mark Sanchez, and Brian Schottenheimer)

Why We’re Freaking Out, Part I

The way this season ended was so abysmal for Jets fans, some outsiders seem shocked that fans are nearing “Jersey Spring” levels of frustration.  Here’s some of the key reasons why fans are justifiably very cranky this week.   Schottenheimer is Still Employed — It makes perfect sense to me that the Jets are trying to get a pass on paying this rollerskating...

Jets have a tough decision to make on Holmes

It’s getting uglier by the minute for Santonio Holmes in New York.  But unless the Jets want to pay him not to work, they’re stuck with him for at least another year — and maybe two. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Holmes is due to receive a guaranteed base salary of $7.75…

Jaguars will interview Brian Schottenheimer

The Jets’ season ended with the offense flailing about unsuccessfully, but that doesn’t seem to have taken much away from Brian Schottenheimer’s prospects of advancement. Schottenheimer, who has been the Jets’ offensive coordinator for the last six years, will interview for the Jaguars’ head coaching job. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports…
