David Patten, who announced his retirement today, may have only been with the Patriots for five months during his second go-round with the team, but in that time, he left an impression, particularly with the younger receivers. Here’s what a few of them had to say about the veteran, who called it quits this morning after a 12-year career: Julian Edelman: ”He was there when they got those titles. He definitely goes by the Patriot way with his work ethic. He’s low-key. You know he’s going to be there, he’s going to be working hard, and he’s going to get his job done.” Brandon Tate: ”David was a hard worker, so it was his work ethic (that stood out). He was just clocking in, coming to work every day, pushing your body.”
