KENTWAN BALMER RUMORS

The Carolina Panthers waive DE Kentwan Balmer

The Panthers have waived 24-year old DE Kenwan Balmer.  Balmer played in 43 games in his first three years in the NFL and he had 62 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss and 2 passes defensed.  The Panthers use their DEs to rush the passer, so they won’t miss Balmer too much, if at all in the future.

Panthers Claim Kentwan Balmer Off of Waivers

The Carolina Panthers made a move last week to pick up former first-round pick Kentwan Balmer off of waivers to help out a beleaguered dline that has thus far failed to provide much– if any– pressure on opposing QBs in the preseason. Balmer was picked 29th overall in the first round of the 2008 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Balmer was average for the Niners before...

Seattle Seahawks Waive Kentwan Balmer

The Kentwan Balmer era is over in Seattle, the team announced that they have waived the former first round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks dealt a sixth round draft pick last season in exchange for Balmer. I would consider the move somewhat surprising because Balmer started 11 games for the Seahawks and logged in a decent 46 tackles last season. I remember back...

Frist Rounders

With Kentwan Balmer going on injured reserve with a shoulder injury, you have to wonder about him as a first round choice. Balmer is still young but he hasn't made a play where you've stood up and said, "That's why he was a first-rounder." A year ago, the 49ers first round picks looked crummy....
