Cowboys agree to 5-year deal with DE Spears
The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a five-year deal with defensive end Marcus Spears.
The deal is worth a reported $19.2 million for Spears, who appeared in only eight games last season and recorded 19 tackles and zero sacks.
A first-round pick of Dallas in 2005, the 28-year-old Spears has only eight sacks in 88 career games.

Marcus Spears to miss 4-6 weeks with knee injury
Marcus Spears' availability for the Sept. 12 season opener at Washington is in question because of a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
Spears suffered a Grade 2 tear of the ligament but he will not require surgery. The injury just requires time to heal and he will likely have to wear a brace when he returns.
