SABBY PISCITELLI RUMORS

Sabby Piscitelli claimed by Browns

Sabby Piscitelli has reportedly found a new home. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Piscitelli was claimed off waivers by the Browns. Players waived after the trade deadline must clear waivers before becoming a free agent. In this case, the Browns preferred to jump on Piscitelli rather than risk him getting to the open market. Piscitelli was released on Tuesday.

Cleveland “Suckers” Browns claim Bucs Sabby Picitelli

The Cleveland Browns have claimed S Sabby Piscitelli off waivers this afternoon, and that move is ironic in the sense that after the Buccaneers dropped Piscitelli, they claimed S Larry Asante from the Cleveland Browns practice squad. Cleveland Browns fans can get ready to watch a player who appears to have all the physical tools, fail with his play on the field. Hopefully, Asante...

Tampa Bay Buccaneers ax Sabby Piscitelli this afternoon

In a somewhat surprising move, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced that they have released S Sabby Piscitelli this afternoon. Now, I’m not surprised because I like Piscitelli, I don’t. I am surprised because earlier this week they had to place rookie S Cody Grimm the injured reserve list, ending his season. Piscitelli was selected in the second round of the 2007 draft...

Denial and Sabby Piscitelli

Head-scratching. Vessel-popping. Throat-clearing. Hand washing. Sabby Piscitelli wasn't the only one sporting this pose last season. These are the physical stages of denial experienced by every sports fan that’s stuck watching a player severely lacking in skill, comprehension or a combination of the two. The same stages exhibited by Buc fans that watched Sabby Piscitelli...

Piscitelli: It wasn't a competition for safety spot

Sabby Piscitelli appeared frustrated Wednesday, one day after losing his starting safety spot to free agent Sean Jones, saying he doesn't believe it was a fair competition. Piscitelli wouldn't expand on why he felt that way, but said he didn't like the fact he found out he'd been demoted via a text message from defensive back Jimmy Lake Monday night. The two would...

Piscitelli Still Has A Chance To Start for the Bucs

Sporting News reports that it looks like Sabby Piscitelli can still be a starter for the Bucs entering the 2010 season: Don’t scratch Buccaneers SS Sabby Piscitelli from the starting lineup just yet. Though the team signed veteran SS Sean Jones, Piscitelli has responded to the challenge and is giving Jones a good battle for the job. Piscitelli fell out of favor a year ago when...

Expounding On Piscitelli VS Jones

I’ve had no qualms for expressing my lack of confidence in 4th year SS Sabby Piscitelli.  I’ve seen a lot of football games both in person and at Raymond James Stadium (as well as a few away stadiums) and he makes some of the most boneheaded decisions I’ve ever seen for a player in the secondary.  We drafted him with the thought that he was going to come in and...

Piscitelli's home ransacked and burglarized during Sunday's game

SS Sabby Piscitelli's joy of the season's first win was offset by the realization his South Tampa home had been burglarized while he was on the field at Raymond James Stadium. Piscitelli was not available for comment on the matter...

Safety Piscitelli’s House Robbed During Win

Safety Sabby Piscitelli’s celebration of the Bucs first win on Sunday was short-lived. Police say burglars broke into his house in Tampa Sunday afternoon while he was playing and beating the Packers at Raymond James Stadium. The house was ransacked and a TV was stolen. A lawn crew in the neighborhood saw the house’s rear [...]
