SHAUN MCDONALD RUMORS

Steelers Offense: So, who will be WR #3 this year?

Last season, we had Homes and Ward and the big question was who would step up into that #3 slot. Limas, Shaun McDonald (remember him?) or Mike Wallace.  I even wrote about it here. Clearly, we know how that big question turned out. Welcome to the 2010 season and we’re back to the same question. It’s been predetermined that it won’t be Limas Sweed.  Unfortunately, his achilles...

WR Shaun McDonald Waived; QB Palko Added to Active Roster

The National Football Post reports that the team has cut WR Shaun McDonald, and put QB Tyler Palko on the active roster: The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially promoted quarterback Tyler Palko from the practice squad to the active roster, his agent confirmed. Palko was signed by the Steelers on Wednesday after he cleared waivers from [...]

And So Begins the Shaun McDonald Era

I don't think this signals the end of Limas' career (that has yet to get off the ground), but I'm fine with Tomlin giving him the Mendenhall treatment for a few weeks. Worst case: the Jedi mind tricks don't take and we have another Lee Mays on our hands. Best case: Limas gets over it, and starts regularly catching the ball.

It’s Just Sports: How Jason Hanson Was Snubbed; IR Report

Statistically speaking, Hanson should be in.  Not many would take up the argument that a player on an 0-14 team deserves to go to the Pro Bowl, but I am not sure there is a kicker in the league better than Jason Hanson right now. It’s a shame that the losses have overshadowed what could be the ...

The Eagles Should Sign...

The 2008 season isn't over yet, but I hear the fat lady warming up her vocals. It's been drilled into our heads, 4-0 and a little bit of help and the Eagles are in the playoffs. It's nice to dream, but the more realistic scenario is the Eagles revamping this offense to assure that the 2009 ...

Desperation is a Stinky Cologne: Extreme Sleepers for Week 7 2008

In a bind? This column is for those of you who, due to injuries or other circumstances, find yourselves with a gaping hole at QB, RB or WR and need a stop-gap player to plug in for one week. Remember, this differs from this week's waiver wire post in that I'm not advising you to pick these players up if you're seeking long-term production. Thanks to matchups, injuries...
