VINNY TESTAVERDE RUMORS

Former Jets reflect on impact of 9/11 attacks

Vinny Testaverde was in the trainer's room at the New York Jets' facility when the TV flashed the images of the World Trade Center on fire. Herman Edwards was watching film in his office when he realized he didn't see any of the normal air traffic flying over the team headquarters at Hofstra University, so he hurriedly flipped on the news. It's something the former...

Ex-Jet Testaverde: Ground Zero was 'war zone'

Vinny Testaverde, Jets quarterback in 2001, who visited Ground Zero just a few days after 9/11, aptly described the scene as "a ware zone."

My interview with former Penn State Nittany Lion and Cleveland Browns fullback Tim Manoa

Former Penn State and Cleveland Browns' fullback Tim Manoa played four seasons in the NFL, three with Cleveland and one with the Indianapolis Colts.  Tim was also a member of the 1986 National Champion Penn State Nittany Lions who knocked off the high-powered Miami Hurricanes led then by 1986 Heisman Trophy winner Vinny Testaverde, 14-10 in the Fiesta Bowl.  Tim rushed for 938...

Now You Can Buy Athletes’ Awful, Awful Artwork

Some charity auctions offer you the chance to hang out with an athlete, and learn from the greatest. Others allow you to own a piece of sports history. Then there are auctions where you bid on drawings that look like they could have been done by the athlete's 6-year-old grandchild. Whoever's ...

Jeff George: "Elite Quarterback Training" video

It looks like a 40-year-old, 17 year NFL veteran has finally called it quits. Jeff George was the #1 overall pick in 1990 who then managed to make his way onto 8 different team rosters before his recent retirement. Disclaimer: Vinny Testaverde recently came back to the league and finished the 2007 NFL season at 44-years-old, so we really cannot rule out a Jeff George return just...

A look at amazing sport streaks

This past Sunday marked the first time in franchise history that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers returned a kick-off for a touchdown, taking a mere 32 years to join the rest of the league, including the disgraceful 8-year old Texans. With this inspiring moment we went ahead and took a look at some of the other strange streaks in sports, both those that remain intact and those that were...

Testaverde's 'NFL thing' putting Bingo team's playoff prospects in jeopardy

JACKSONVILLE, FL — Martha Conner, 64, of the Shady Grove retirement community, is livid this week after learning that one of the four members of her bingo team, Vinny Testaverde, is taking an indefinite leave of absence to chase a dream of playing professional football. (SATIRE)

THE CAROLINA PANTHERS ARE OFFICIALLY DONE

After the Carolina Panthers had signed 83-year old Vinny Testaverde a few days ago, it spawned a new rule which I now like to call "the Testaverde Rule". See, the Testaverde Rule is simple. It immediately eliminates any any team which has a quarterback depth chart that wouldn't even scare a team of amputee midgets.

This has to be a Joke

I can understand looking for depth at the QB position, just in case something happens, but Vinny Testaverde? Hes 43 years old! No 43 year old, besides Morton Anderson (who's a freakin' kicker), can play in the NFL. It just can't happen. The young guys are too fast, hit too hard, and are just overall better. So why did the Patriots sign him? I have no idea.
