The 49ers on Friday waived wide receiver Brandon Carswell, who sustained a torn ACL early in his only practice with the 49ers last offseason.
Shortly after signing to the team’s 90-man roster, Carswell sustained his right knee injury in a non-contact drill on June 12. The 49ers waived him shortly thereafter but he reverted back to the 49ers’ injured reserve when he went unclaimed.

Carswell, 24, signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of USC back in 2013. He unfortunately suffered a torn ACL during last year’s minicamp and subsequently missed the entire 2013 season.
