The Philadelphia Eagles announced that they have signed exclusive-rights free agent DE Cedric Thornton to one-year deal.
Thornton, 25, signed with the Eagles as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Arkansas back in 2011. He appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles last season and totaled 60 tackles, one sack and a forced fumble.

A unit that wasn’t the best in 2012, the defensive line quickly emerged as one of the better units on the entire team in 2013. Even when the Eagles’ defense was struggling early on last year, the defensive line was still played pretty well.
While 254 players were selected in the 2011 NFL draft, Cedric Thornton waited for a phone call that never came.

After being passed up in the draft, Thornton signed a free-agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. He's gone from undrafted rookie to one of the best defensive players on a first-place team.
