Panthers rookie happy for second chance
Rookie DE Thomas Keiser thought he made the Panthers' roster coming out of preseason drills. But when the Panthers claimed DE George Selvie off waivers on Sept. 4, Keiser found himself on the practice squad.
It didn't deter the undrafted free agent from Stanford, who kept hustling at practice and giving the starting offensive lineman a good look.

The Panthers have waived 24-year old DE George Selvie. Selvie played in all 4 games for the Panthers this year and he had 2 tackles. Selvie has now played in 20 games in his first two years in the NFL and he has 23 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks. The Panthers are loaded at DE, so they should be o.k. without Selvie.

Panthers Sign LB Antwan Applewhite, Release LB George Selvie
The Panthers signed free agent DL Antwan Applewhite Wednesday and released DL George Selvie. Applewhite played at San Diego State before making the San Diego roster as a rookie in 2007 and spending four years with the Chargers. He was in training camp with San Francisco this season.
