The Jets waived rookie linebacker Marcus Dowtin on Tuesday, giving them two open roster spots.
Dowtin, an undrafted free agent, did not make the trip to St. Louis last weekend and he was not injured. The release of Dowtin seems odd since the Jets already had an open roster spot they never filled last week.
