MATT MCGLOIN RUMORS & GOSSIP

What was good and bad about QB Matt McGloin’s 4th quarter preseason comebacks?

In each of the Raiders first 2 preseason games, third string QB Matt McGloin has led 4th quarter comebacks. Against the Vikings, he fell just short when his Hail Mary pass fell to the ground. Against the Lions, he was successful when his 19 yard TD pass was caught by WR Brice Butler. Of course, anytime your team gets a game winning drive from a back-up QB, it is a good thing. We...

Are the Raiders giving Matt McGloin a fair shot?

McGloin. McMoxie. McLovin’. Call him what you want, but the Oakland Raiders have one of the best third string quarterbacks in the league. Replacing an injured Terrelle Pryor in week 11 last year, Matt McGloin’s first pass against Matt Schaub’s Texans was a five-yard touchdown strike to Denarius Moore. There was no wild scrambling or option-reads. Instead, there were back shoulder...

Oakland Raiders: QB evaluation after preseason week 1

The Oakland Raiders only put points on the board Friday on one occasion, which brings major QB concerns to mind. Especially because the touchdown that made up all six of Oakland’s points came from Matt McGloin, who at this point is the third-string QB. As I mentioned in my last article, the Raiders’ run game is one thing fans can be comfortable with but is Matt Schaub at starting...

Is Matt McGloin “your guy” if the Super Bowl is at stake?

The Oakland Raiders have not yet found their franchise quarterback. Or have they? At least two players on the team appear to think so. ESPN.com is doing a series of posts reflecting the results of player polls conducted during the season. The other day I wrote about the fact that head coach Dennis Allen received votes from the Raiders locker room as the head coach players would most...

According to CSNBayArea.com,  the Oakland Raiders plan on sticking with Matt McGloin as their quarterback even though they benched him during Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs. Oakland Raiders have a gem in Andre Holmes, he crushed his former team today

Andre Holmes. The one-time Cowboys project receiver entered Thursday with five career catches for 76 yards. Holmes put on a first-half clinic against Dallas cornerback Orlando Scandrick, catching four passes for 56 yards after a particularly galling drop. The 6-foot-4 Holmes finished with seven catches for a game-high 136 yards. He seemed to become quarterback Matt McGloin’s […]

Matt McGloin will start on Thanksgiving for the Raiders

Despite the fact that the Raiders lost Sunday’s game against the Titans,  quarterback Matt McGloin will start Thursday’s game against the Cowboys. “I thought Matt played well,” head coach Dennis Allen said via CSNBayArea.com. “He got us the touchdown we needed in the fourth quarter. We just couldn’t hold up defensively.” McGloin did a nice job of getting the Raiders...

WATCH: QB Matt McGloin's open letter to the NFL

Yeah… it’s safe to say that the Oakland Raider’s starting quarterback, Matt McGloin, has a huge chip on his shoulder.  The quarterback his teammates endearingly call McLovin,‘ plays the game of football pissed off.  Matt not only displayed some serious moxie as he lead the Raiders to a 28-23 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday, but he also shows it in this letter he wrote...

Raiders are considering starting QB Matt McGloin

Matt Flynn was not good this week, and his coach did not hold back to let everyone know: “Look,” he said, exasperation leaking into his usual monotone, “Matt didn’t play well, and we’ve gotta move on. We’ve got to get better than that.” And, when asked if Pryor’s concussion still prevented him from playing against […]
