So, to paraphrase John Lennon, this is the season’s end. And what have the Sabres done? Taking a look back on the 2009-2010 season is an important step in evaluating the outlook of our favorite franchise (which was done wonderfully here). After a day or two to reflect on the Sabres 4-2 series loss to the Boston Bruins, I believe we can look back on a moderately successful year in which our team appears to be still improving as our young players are now firmly in their primes. I happened to be in Las Vegas for get together among friends in mid-January when I was wandering around Planet Hollywood’s sportsbook. I noticed a small kiosk near the entrance that had future bets being offered. The sheets were dated October 2009 but I was curious as to what oddsmakers thought of our chances back then as we were now in first place.
