By Nick Tranfaglia of TiqIQ, Youth hockey in southern California is growing at an ever impressive rate as the Golden State is churning out more and more NHL prospects and players each year. It’s not surprising to see Anaheim Ducks tickets are growing in popularity as well. The home season ticket average this year is $93, which is 90% above last year’s average of $49. Last season, the Ducks under head coach Bruce Boudreau won the Pacific Division with a 30-12-6 record and earned the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and a first-round matchup with the Detroit Red Wings. Detroit eliminated the Ducks in a wildly entertaining seven game, which included four overtime games. Continue reading "2013-14 Anaheim Ducks Tickets: Top 5 Games"

Corey Perry Nets Anaheim Ducks Gift Win

Preview: The Anaheim Ducks continue their road trip to start the season tonight in Winnipeg. It will be their only visit to MTS Centre against the Winnipeg Jets this season, and thus the last time Teemu Selanne will play in front of the crowd he began his career with in 1992. Selanne burst onto the scene in 1992 scoring a rookie-record 76 goals for the Jets. Selanne did not play...

Jonas Hiller starts at goaltender in Minnesota after Viktor Fasth got the start against the Colorado Avalanche. Dustin Penner makes his anticipated return to Anaheim after being a healthy scratch in the season opener. Veteran Teemu Selanne will...

Perreault scores lifts Ducks in OT

The Anaheim Ducks let the sting of their season-opening loss at Colorado carry into their second game at Minnesota. And their improved play led to their first win of the season. Anaheim scored early in the first two periods, Jonas Hiller had 30 saves and Mathieu Perreault had the game-winning goal with 4.9 seconds left in overtime and the Ducks beat the Wild 4-3 on Saturday night...

Perreault scores at 4:55 of OT to lift Ducks 4-3

Mathieu Perreault scored at 4:55 of overtime to give the Anaheim Ducks a 4-3 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. Perreault's game-winner came on a 2-on-1 break with Francois Beauchemin. He dumped the puck to a streaking Beauchemin, who gave it right back to Perreault, and the center flipped his shot past Niklas Backstrom to give the Ducks their first win of the...

Ducks Get First Win of the Season in Overtime

Mathieu Perreault (No. 22) notches an overtime goal with 4.9 seconds remaining to give the Ducks their first win of the season. The Wild fans made the Ducks feel at home with their bright orange hunting hats a giveaway that was not planned well. First Period Recap: Jonas Hiller got his first start of the season and saw the Ducks provide him immediate goal support as Saku Koivu...

Peter Tessier: Selanne: The Prodigal Son Returns

Within the NHL there may be no other player as adored in a city as Teemu Selanne is in Winnipeg.  He is loved and remembered from a time he spent there many years ago.  The fact that at age 43 he is still playing hockey, and playing it well, is a testament with nothing to do with the city and fans of Winnipeg.   For most fans he was a player that should never have left...

Ducks-Wild Preview

Along with avoiding another drama-free ending, Anaheim Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau will try to get a better performance out of his team in its second game. The Ducks, who will be without veteran forward Teemu Selanne, will seek to bounce back from a lopsided defeat Saturday night by continuing their recent success against the Minnesota Wild. Anaheim (0-1-0) was largely uncompetitive...

Perry scores winner as Ducks outlast Jets 3-2

Corey Perry took advantage of a defensive mistake to score the winner in the third period of the Anaheim Ducks' 3-2 victory over the Jets on Sunday night when Teemu Selanne got a standing ovation in what could be his last visit to Winnipeg. Jets defensemen Zach Bogosian had raced down the ice to grab a loose puck behind the net but when he turned to clear it up the ice he fanned...

Wild's Charlie Coyle to miss 3-4 weeks with a sprained knee

Second-line center Charlie Coyle will miss 3-4 weeks with a sprained knee the Wild announced tonight. The injury occurred with 8:54 left in the second period Saturday against Anaheim when Coyle was checked in the neutral zone by the Ducks' Andrew Cogliano. This is a huge blow for Coyle and the 0-0-2 Wild. Coyle won the second-line center position early in an outstanding training...

Ducks hold off Jets, 3-2

WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP) -- Corey Perry took advantage of a defensive mistake to score the winner in the Anaheim Ducks' 3-2 victory over the Jets on Sunday night, when Teemu Selanne got a standing ovation in what could be his last visit to Winnipeg. Selanne, who is retiring after this season, began his NHL career with Winnipeg in 1992-93 by setting rookie records of 76 goals...

Ducks Redeem Themselves in 4-3 OT Victory in Minnesota

The Ducks needed to redeem themselves after an uninspiring 6-1 loss to start the season against Colorado.   What a difference a couple days make! A couple of practices and a new attitude merited positive results in Minnesota, a notoriously difficult building to play in.   The 4-3 overtime win was vastly different from Wednesday night's efforts. "Any headline...

Steve Palumbo: That Was Ugly

Sorry for the delay in responding the Anaheim Ducks 6-1 shellacking at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche, but I have been busy at work this week. It was probably better that way because what I saw form the Ducks in that first game was bad...on all levels. Thankfully the Ducks have a couple of days in between games to regroup and give me some time to post my thoughts on what...

NHL Coaches Patrick Roy & Bruce Boudreau Almost Fight After Game (Video)

When the Colorado Avanlanche hired former NHL great Patrick Roy to become their new head coach, they did so not only because he was qualified, but also to sell tickets. How can a coach sell tickets you ask? Well the scenes following last night’s game between the Avanlanche and the Anaheim Ducks, is Exhibit A. In Roy’s first game as an NHL coach, the fiery former goalie ...

Gold Getzy and A Card Show Today!

I picked up another new piece to my Ryan Getzlaf SuperCollection. Numbered 12/25 and the Mirror Gold parallel of a badass Getz insert, it hails from 2010-2011 Panini Certified and depicts The Captain raising The Cup back in 2007.I'm off to a Card Show, the same one I attended earlier this year. Should be a lot of fun, and hopefully a few California bloggers will make an appearance as well.
