Despite the best efforts of Jakub Voracek, Claude Giroux, Wayne Simmonds, Kimmo Timmonen and Ilya Bryzgalov, things certainly didn’t turn out to be Always Sunny in Philadelphia when it came to the 2013 Flyers. Instead it was more like a game of Chardee Macdennis that lasted for four months and made the Flyers’ faithful run to the liquor cabinet quite often. Team Name: Philadelphia Flyers Record: 23-22-3, 4th in Atlantic, No Playoffs Player of the Season: Giroux led the team with 35 assists and 48 points and 21 points came on the power play. He continued to show that he is the best player from a fantasy perspective on Broad Street. Breakout of the Season:  Voracek roared to career highs in goals (22), assists (24), points (46), shooting percentage (17.1%), power play points (17: 8G, 9A) and game-winning goals (3). He wound up being one of the best right wings to own and should go higher in 2013-2014 than his ADP in the high 90s. Hopefully, he doesn’t crash any more Ferraris either. We all know car crashes don’t end well for Flyers. Disappointment of the Season: Bryzaglov posted a bland 19-17-3 mark with a 2.79 GAA and a .900 save percentage. There were times when he looked lost and would allow 3,4 or 5 goals per outing. He was a real roller coaster of a goaltender to own despite all the starts he got. Team Analysis: The Flyers were like Icarus. They try to fly too high and their wings melted, hurtling them back down to Earth. Unfortunately, that lofty perch they were trying to reach was the break-even point. 2013-2014 Story Lines: Will the Flyers buy out Bryzgalov? His performance might have the phone lines ringing in the Flyers’ front office. 2013-2014 Fantasy Guys to Have: Giroux, Timmonen, Voracek, Simmonds, Guys on the Fringe: Scott Hartnell, Bryzgalov, Matt Read, Steve Mason   PLAYER GP G A PTS +/- PIM ATOI PPG PPA SHG SHA SOG SPCT Claude Giroux, C 48 13 35 48 -7 22 21:10 6 15 1 0 137 9.5 Jakub Voracek, RW 48 22 24 46 -7 35 17:14 8 9 0 0 129 17.1 Wayne Simmonds, RW 45 15 17 32 -7 82 15:38 6 10 0 0 110 13.6 Kimmo Timonen, D 45 5 24 29 3 36 21:46 3 14 0 0 78 6.4 Brayden Schenn, C 47 8 18 26 -8 24 15:32 2 8 0 0 79 10.1 Matt Read, C 42 11 13 24 1 2 18:01 1 2 0 0 72 15.3 Danny Briere, C 34 6 10 16 -13 10 16:04 3 3 0 0 87 6.9 Sean Couturier, C 46 4 11 15 -8 10 15:53 0 4 0 0 75 5.3 Ruslan Fedotenko, LW 47 4 9 13 8 12 12:34 0 0 0 1 43 9.3 Simon Gagne, LW† 27 5 6 11 -3 6 14:17 2 1 0 1 56 8.9 Scott Hartnell, RW 32 8 3 11 -5 70 15:52 4 1 0 0 74 10.8 Luke Schenn, D 47 3 8 11 3 34 21:52 0 0 0 0 81 3.7 Maxime Talbot, C 35 5 5 10 2 23 15:26 0 0 1 0 41 12.2 Mike Knuble, RW 28 4 4 8 -4 20 12:55 1 1 0 0 31 12.9 Erik Gustafsson, D 27 3 5 8 -1 2 20:09 0 1 0 0 36 8.3 Bruno Gervais, D 37 1 5 6 -17 10 17:08 0 0 0 0 49 2.0 Braydon Coburn, D 33 1 4 5 -10 41 22:37 0 0 0 0 38 2.6 Kurtis Foster, D 23 1 4 5 0 25 13:05 1 0 0 0 21 4.8 Zac Rinaldo, C 32 3 2 5 -7 85 8:23 0 0 0 0 15 20.0 Tye McGinn, LW 18 3 2 5 0 19 12:43 0 0 0 0 33 9.1 Nicklas Grossmann, D 30 1 3 4 -1 21 18:20 0 0 0 0 21 4.8 Oliver Lauridsen, D 15 2 1 3 0 34 15:08 0 0 0 0 14 14.3 Brandon Manning, D 6 0 2 2 4 0 14:48 0 0 0 0 5 0.0 Tom Sestito, LW† 7 2 0 2 1 12 5:46 0 0 0 0 3 66.7 Andrej Meszaros, D 11 0 2 2 -9 2 18:28 0 1 0 0 18 0.0 Kent Huskins, D † 8 0 1 1 0 0 16:06 0 0 0 0 2 0.0 Jason Akeson, C 1 1 0 1 2 0 12:23 0 0 0 0 2 50.0 Harry Zolnierczyk, RW 7 0 1 1 0 36 7:22 0 0 0 0 4 0.0 Jay Rosehill, D 11 1 0 1 -4 64 6:48 0 0 0 0 7 14.3 Eric Wellwood, LW 4 0 0 0 0 0 9:25 0 0 0 0 2 0.0 Scott Laughton, C 5 0 0 0 0 0 11:31 0 0 0 0 10 0.0 Matt Konan, D 2 0 0 0 0 0 15:56 0 0 0 0 4 0.0 Andreas Lilja, D 4 0 0 0 -1 0 16:47 0 0 0 0 2 0.0 Jody Shelley, LW 1 0 0 0 0 0 7:58 0 0 0 0 0 0.0 Adam Hall, RW† 11 0 0 0 -1 0 10:59 0 0 0 0 15 0.0   PLAYER GP W L OTL GAA TOI SV SV% SHO TGA TSA PIM Steve Mason† 7 4 2 0 1.90 378:04 203 .944 0 12 215 0 Brian Boucher 4 0 2 0 2.50 144:01 49 .891 0 6 55 0 Ilya Bryzgalov 40 19 17 3 2.79 2297:45 959 .900 1 107 1066 0 Michael Leighton 1 0 1 0 5.07 59:08 21 .808 0 5 26 0
