Last season's Vezina Trophy winner will be looking to rebound from a difficult first game, as he allowed five goals on 19 shots to the New York Rangers on Saturday. Thomas will play the full game.- Montreal is expected to have Jaroslav Halak between the pipes tonight. Halak's last preseason appearance came on Sunday, when he and the Canadiens fell 2-1 to Tuukka Rask and the Bruins in Quebec City. Curtis Sanford hasn't played since last Friday, when he and Halak combined to defeat the Ottawa Senators 2-1.- The B's and Habs have played each other once during the preseason, with the Bruins taking a 2-1 decision at Quebec City's Colisee Pepsi on Sunday. Michael Ryder and Chuck Kobasew scored for Boston, while Josh Gorges picked up the lone tally for Montreal. The goaltending match-up featured Tuukka Rask and Jaroslav Halak.- Tonight, the Bruins will be seeing a relatively regular lineup out of the Canadiens, as 13 of their 18 skaters have played at least half of one full season at the NHL level. Ben Maxwell, Yannick Weber, and Gregory Stewart have all had brief tastes of the show, while Mathieu Carle and Tom Pyatt will be the only players without any NHL experience.- Boston will miss out on seeing Brian Gionta, Roman Hamrlik, Maxim Lapierre, Georges Laraque, Paul Mara, Andrei Markov, and Carey Price.On the other side of the ice, the Bruins will be playing more of a mixture of players, as ten of their 18 skaters have spent a significant amount of time in the NHL. This will give Boston a better opportunity to judge some of the players that are on the fence between the NHL and the AHL. Players such as Johnny Boychuk and Drew Fata are battling for the final spot on the blueline, while Zach Hamill, Brad Marchand, and Vladimir Sobotka fight for the final roster slots up front.- Yesterday, the Bruins trimmed their roster down to 36 players, assigning Jamie Arniel, Andrew Bodnarchuk, Jeff Penner, and Kevin Regan to Providence. Speaking of the Baby B's, they opened up the preseason last night with a 3-2 victory over the Springfield Falcons. Adam Pineault, Rob Kwiet, and Alain Goulet scored for the P-Bruins, while Adam Courchaine made 32 saves on 34 shots for the win. Providence takes on Lowell tonight at 6:05 in Walpole, MA.- Tonight is the start of a difficult stretch of games for the Bruins, as they will play three games in three nights in three different cities to finish the exhibition schedule. Earlier in the preseason, the Canadiens faced quite the challenge, as they had games on five consecutive nights. Montreal compiled a 3-2 record during that set of games, and hasn't played since. Boston enters tonight's tilt with a record of 3-1-1.
