This weekends games between the Fighting Sioux and the Wisconsin Badgers will be on television. That is good news for Fighting Sioux fans. I will have to tape on my DVR and watch the game when I get home from work on Friday night.

Games will be on TV

This weekend's games will be on FSSN, thanks to Nodak Mutual, REA, WDAZ and Midcontinent Communications. UND says to contact your local cable provider for details, but it's supposed to "be aired on most local and regional cable systems that normally carry FSSN hockey broadcasts (click here for the official press release)

Most of us that follow the Minnesota Wild know that that Wild GM Doug Risebrough does not usually pick up free agents that have a back ground in college hockey, there have been a few exception but the current team has none with college hockey experience. Here is a little heads up to Risebrough if he doesn't get shown the door. Jordan Leopold is a unrestricted free agent after the season is over.
LEOPOLD RETURNS TO CALGARY

Jordan Leopold is returning to the Calgary Flames. The Colorado Avalanche sent Jordan Leopold to the Calgary Flames in exchange for blue-liner Lawrence Nycholat, prospect Ryan Wilson and a second-round draft pick in 2009.

Leopold has 20 points (6-14) and is a minus-10 in 64 games this season.

Nycholat, who has one assist in 14 games, had been picked up on waivers a day earlier.

The 28-year-old defenceman spent three seasons with the Flames before being dealt to Colorado in the Alex Tanguay trade in June 2006.

Leopold is earning $1.5 million this season and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Agent Spotlight: Ron Salcer

"A man's got to do what a man's got to do," John Wayne's character mused in the 1939 film, "Stagecoach". In Ron Salcer's case, that means taking on zealous fans, the local media, even crooked executives, all in order to defend his principles. Salcer, who runs Icy Luck, Inc. out of Manhattan Beach, CA, represents Marian Gaborik, the uber-talented...

More on the Wheeler saga.

Here is an interesting story I found on the continuing Blake Wheeler drama over on the the Hockey news blog. The blog post even mentions what I thought might be a possibility for Blake Wheeler. It could be quite possible that Blake Wheeler might want to play for the home town team the Minnesota Wild. It will be interesting to see how this story plays out in the next month or two...

You heard it here first. GSP recieved a huge 89% of the vote. Here is what St-Pierre had to say: "It's an honour for me to have this award and being the...

When the Minnesota Wild Become Full Strength

I’m not talking about the Wild’s penalty kill (which is the best in the NHL) but more of when this line up becomes 100% healthy. Chemistry is something that wild head coach Jaques Lemaire has preached and strived for in his 8 years as coach. By changing goaltenders in the middle of playoff series to different lines to keep teams on their toes. The team lately, I will...

More Denver Post stuff... Skippies are us...

Minnesota's Stephane Veilleux, shown fighting Colorado's gentlemanly forward Ian Laperriere during Tuesday night's 5-1 Avalanche victory, is another example of goons gone Wild. (John Leyba, The Denver Post ) Whats going on at the Denver Post? In retrospect; I think the Denver Post must just be a in your face newspaper, that likes getting under the skin of opposing...

Calgary Flames coach Mike Keenan will be looking for several players, including goalie Miikka Kiprusoff, to step up their play Sunday against visiting San Jose in Game 6 of their first-round series (CBC, 8 p.m. ET).

The fighting debate in hockey.

Yawn! Here we go again. The NHL GM's are down at their annual meeting in Florida talking about various issues and one of them is the subject of staged fights in hockey and hits to the head. Personally, I can't ever see the NHL without fighting, and it probably will never happen, not any time soon anyways. Also, I wonder why people can't leave well enough alone as well...

Sharks Douce Flames & Win Game 4 - A Team Reborn!!!

The San Jose Sharks defeated the Calgary Flames 3-2 on Tuesday night in the Saddledome to even the series at two games a piece. Joe Thornton was Joe Thornton, and the Sharks took the lemons they were given in game three and made lemonade in game four. In the game four preview, I stated that there were three keys to a turnaround Sharks victory. Let's review.

Avalanche Opponent Could be Locked in Tonight

It's feel like it's been a long wait to find out who the Avalanche's first-round playoff opponent will be but a decision could be made tonight. That decision, however, relies on the faltering Vancouver Canucks defeating the Calgary Flames in their final - meaningless - game of the season. Given tha...

Local legend Linden leads Canucks back to 8th

Trevor Linden scored twice to lead the Vancouver Canucks to a huge 6-2 victory over the Calgary Flames on Sunday night on the west coast.

Flacco to start!? Hell no

AOL's Ryan Wilson today posted an article with the title, "It looks like Joe Flacco will be the Ravens starter at some point in '08," and he proceeds to offer no evidence that I could see other than the fact that Flacco took most of his mini-camp snaps from the shotgun formation. There might be other evidence hiding in there somewhere. I only read the post once. And even that was...
