Biron leads Flyers to 2-1 series advantage

It's the oldest hockey adage there is: hot goaltending wins in the playoffs. The Flyers got another amazing game from goaltender Martin Biron to help them to a 3-2 win over the Canadiens in Game 3 of their playoff series. The win gives the Flyers a 2-1 edge in the series.

Biron was on all night, and he needed to be to bail the Flyers out. The Canadiens out-shot the Flyers 34-14 which meant Biron was kept busy all night. The Flyers goalie had to make numerous saves when the defense broke down, including his best stop on a breakaway by Saku Koivu in the first period. Biron nearly pulled out a shutout but the Canadiens managed to capitalize on a long power play in the third period. Biron is the hottest of any goalie in the playoffs right now, a good sign for the Flyers as they look to continue their run.

As a commenter said during my live blog:
"The PRICE is wrong B#tch!"

if the montreal fans burned police cars after their team won in 7 games, i wonder what they'd do if their team lost in 5...

I believe we're going to find out!

Weren't you predicting us to lose in 5...Enriquefed ,

My original prediction was Canadiens in six..... believe me, there is a big difference between what I THOUGHT would happen and what I WANT to happen!

last night's game was amazing.. but how many people almost crapped their pants after the Hatcher major?

I couldn't believe that call. I could see a 4 minute double minor, but a 5 minute major was overkill.

I dont know he killed the guy lol... I bleed orange and black, year round and green teh rest of the year...lol...... This is incredible they are playing awesome..

I'm not saying it wasn't a penalty, it was boarding. If you listen to Hatcher after the game, he was originally told it was a 2 minute minor. As soon as the officials saw blood it went to a 5 minute major.

I would like to know where Jason2 is this beautiful morning in Philadelphia. I guess he knows we are not tortured Philly fans anymore......whatever the outcome this Flyer team is doing us proud!

And Knuble is coming back for game four..... Gagne is also a possibility down the road!

WOO! anybody else feeling a battle of the Keystone State for the next round? That would be scary, but nonetheless, i'm thinking Flyers vs. Red Wings in the Stanley Cup Finals
