In light of all the recent trades and rumors swirling around Paxson, people have been analyzing his legacy. My focus has been mainly on how much Reinsdorf was really calling the shots and whether that interfered with Paxson's job.

The Boston Bruins lost Manny Fernandez to 78 games last season after the goalie had knee surgery. Tim Thomas did admirably filling in for the injured veteran, but the Bruins need Fernandez back not only for this season but to mold future Boston goalies.

ESPN is reporting that the Bulls and Knicks have agreed to a trade
and are awaiting league approval. The deal would send Larry Hughes
(!!!) to the Knicks for Tim Thomas and Jerome James.
So Hughes' short time with the Bulls has come to an end, and Chicago
will welcome James and Thomas. Is it me or does Tim Thomas change
teams, or at least almost change...

The Knicks made two big trades today, sending Jamal Crawford to the Warriors for Al Harrington and Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins to the Clippers for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley. From a "win this year" standpoint, they look like horrible trades. From a "let's get LeBron in 2010" standpoint, they are small miracles.
