Thank you Donald Brashear. He’s one of the toughest players in the NHL - he also happens to be one of the dumbest. With his team up 1-0 late in the 3rd, Brashear took a costly 6 minute penalty (high sticking + roughing) in the last seven minutes of this afternoons game. Boston went on to score ...

Washington Capitals' winger Donald Brashear won't be a game 7 participant, so sayeth the NHL's Enforcement Czar, Colin Campbell. Brashear Suspended 6 Games

Wow. 6 games? Can you say 'track record'??? While I expected Donald Brashear to be suspended for Game 7 on Tuesday night, I did not expect such a lengthy one. The AP story explains it like this: Brashear is being punished Monday for two separate actions -- one before and one during Washington's 5-3 victory in Game 6 at New York on Sunday. He was suspended for one...

Tell Me Something Wednesday: Rock the Red

Minutes before going to the Caps game yesterday, I was sitting in Donald Brashear's downtown apartment talking about how crazy this season has been and what has got the team to this point. Though he wasn't going to suit up, Brash seemed just as nervous/anxious/excited as anyone I've ever seen. Just before we headed outside Brash said, "Wait til tonight, it's...

Brashear Suspended 6 Games...

Donald Brashear has been suspended for 6 games. One game was for his pre-game shove of Colton Orr, the other 5 for intending to injure Blair Betts. This makes his intent to injure only 5/6th of the seriousness of Sean Avery's comments about Hollywood actress Elisha Cuthbert, you know, the girl in her underwear from Old School. From Colin Campbell: “It is also my opinion that...

More on the Brashear hit on Betts.

TSN's Bob McKenzie has a follow up on the Brashear hit from yesterday's game. I think Bob is right that Brashear is going to get suspended like one poster said in the previous post this is a cheap hit and one could make the argument that there was an intent to injure by Brashear. Lets be clear Brashear has one role on the Capitals hockey team and it isn't to score goals...
