Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom and a pair of Chicago Blackhawks — right wing Patrick Kane and center Jonathan Toews — are the three finalists for the Calder Trophy in 2007-08, awarded "to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition," the National Hockey League announced today.

  • If it was best prospect it would go to Toews. If it was best passer it would be Backstrom but i would have to give the Rookie of the year to Kane for the work he did the entire year. Also i was a little surprised that Carey Price didn't make this list but i think he has a chance to win some awards in his future.

Jeff Carter Hit With Beer Bottle During Post-Game Interview

I'm sure not all of the Washington Capitals fans are classless idiots. But each and every team has their fair share. A handful of Canadien fans last night showed that even our friendly neighbors from the north have a few that get out of hand after they themselves have had a few. Flyers blow 2 goal lead, chance to end series

You knew he would make his mark eventually. After basically being shut down for 5 games, Alexander Ovechkin proved why he is the NHL MVP as he scored two goals in the third period to lead the Capitals past the Flyers, 4-2. The win forces the series back to Washington for a Game 7, something the Flyers desperately wanted to avoid. The Flyers dominated the game through most of the...
