Canucks and Flames Going in Different Directions

If you're a Canucks fan, this article will make you smile. If you're a Flames fan, you will probably want some divine intervention. Basically, to summarize... Canucks will be a force in the playoffs, and Flames will most likely be an easy bet for first round exit (if they make it to the playoffs).

The Sedin twins and Roberto Luongo are the top three players in Vancouver, and when they're on top of their game, they're unbeatable. Hard to believe that a one line team and super goalie can win games like the Canucks have been doing, but they're getting the results. They're the most likely candidates for this year's version of Canada's team -- much the same way Calgary Flames were in the 2004 playoffs. Canucks are doing it using the same blueprint that Calgary Flames circa 2004 used -- grinding, checking, super goaltending, defense, and an unstoppable first line.

Speaking of the Calgary Flames, the article gives it to them... "No road savvy, no discipline and not enough desire. These Flames will probably be the worst squad in the playoffs and easy money for anyone who fades them." That's a really bold statement to make, but the article does make some valid points. If the Flames make the playoffs, they will easily be considered the underdogs of the playoffs.
