Chelios passes Roy

The 46 year old Chris Chelios is playing in his record 23rd postseason and now holds the record for most games played in the playoffs at 248. He passed Patrick Roy on the all time list on Saturday night when Chelios and the Red Wings defeated the Nashville Predators 4-2. Even though Chelios has lost some of his offensive ability, he contributes to the Red Wings in many different ways. He averaged nearly 17 minutes of ice time in his 69 games in the regular season and in his 10 years in a Detroit uniform he has yet to have a negative +-. He is the veteran on the team, even being older than Red Wing coach Mike Babcock. But Chelios brings leadership and a hard nose style of hockey that has kept him in the league since 1984.

UH-OH... I bet Patrick will tell his son to go beat him up now. Watch out Chelios!

Why was Chelios making a change only 9 seconds after the preds scored the tying goal. Him leaving that spot opened a huge lane for Arnot.
